Jimmy is Hannah Marie's older cousin. He's friends with Katie, Daryl and Bert. He is the main antagonist in both films: Scary Godmother: Halloween Spooktacular and Scary Godmother: The Revenge of Jimmy.

Personality[]

Jimmy is an in charge kind of person. He is always trying to control his friends and insists he is the leader of the group. He is mean and sarcastic most of the time, his hobbies including making fun of Hannah and scaring his friends. He claims not to be afraid of monsters, as he thinks they don't exist, but after Hannah and her friends from the Fright Side prove him wrong, he becomes obsessed with trying to protect himself from being eaten by Bug-a-Boo.

There are very few times that he is shown with a soft side, such as at the end of Scary Godmother: The Revenge of Jimmy when he makes a peace offering with Hannah by asking her to break open the pumpkin container with him.

Appearance[]

Jimmy has curly blonde hair, fair skin, and two small black ovals for eyes. His Halloween costume is the devil, consisting of a red hoodie with white draw strings and white horns sewn to the hood, red sweatpants with a long pointed tail, and red/white sneakers. When it's not Halloween, he wears a long sleeved orange shirt with black sleeves and a black #1 on the chest, light blue jeans, and black/white sneakers.

Scary Godmother: Halloween Spooktacular[]

Movie[]

During his introduction, he attempts to scare his friends and is scolded by Katie for being late. Disgruntled, Jimmy explains the he had to pick up his cousin, Hannah Marie, to go trick-or-treating with him and his friends. Annoyed at the fact that he has to drag Hannah with her and not wanting to wait for her the whole night, Jimmy suggests to his friends that they should get rid of her. The plan is agreed upon and in order to scare her, Jimmy tells a chilling tale about monsters who would come to devour all the children on Halloween if the 'new kid' didn't place candy in the basement of the Spook House each year.

Initially, they decide to follow Hannah into the house, but after Hannah is inside, they hastily retreat, leaving her locked inside the abandoned building. Laughing at her terrifired expression, he insists they should wait to hear her scream before they let her out. However, as the night goes on, they find that Hannah has been staying silent the whole time, and in the process, they end up missing out on their own Halloween trick-or-treating. Katie admonishes Jimmy for wasting their time and scaring his cousin, whom he was supposed to protect. After some discussion (and a long debate on who should be leader), Jimmy, Katie, Daryl, and Bert decide to enter the Spook House and fetch Hannah. Inside, they encounter Orson and, after making fun of his appearance, they end up starting a series of terrifying encounters with the Fright Side monsters.

Near the end of the film, Jimmy and his friends follow Hannah as she bravely "defeats" the monsters with her flashlight, and the group rushes out of the house to safety, with Jimmy clinging onto Hannah the rest of the night.

Book[]

Jimmy is seen as a more malicious kid in the book, expressing his distate for Hannah prominently and often leaving her behind to the point of his friends stopping him so they could wait for Hannah to catch up. Annoyed at his cousin, Jimmy convinces the others to help him scare Hannah so they could bring her home early, abandoning her inside the Spook House.

As time passes and Hannah hasn't come out yet, Jimmy is left unfazed, with his friends panicking instead. Aggravated at their fear, he orders that they go fetch Hannah, only to end up getting terrorized by the monsters from the Fright Side, running out of the Spook House once Hannah leads them to the door. By the end, Jimmy ends up bringing Hannah home on time.

Scary Godmother: The Revenge of Jimmy[]

Books[]

Having been traumatized due to the events of Last Halloween, Jimmy has grown fearful of monsters up to the pointof wanting to cancel Halloween forever. With his new 'Anti-Halloween' plot brewing, Jimmy sneaks out in the middle of the night to set his plan in motion. Initially, his attemots to cancel Halloween are minor, kicking all the pumpkins in the pumpkin patch to ensure there were no jack-o-lanterns and stamping the costumes so they would be deemed as 'too dangerous' for kids, however, things would soon escalate from there. Due to his previous plots getting ruined by the kids in town, Jimmy decides to go further into his plan, thrashing the candy store and even wrapping all the floats in toilet paper so they wouldn't be able to begin the parade.

Ultimately, this gets ruined due to Hannah's creativity and the parade goes down without any problems. Hearing the praises of the 'ghost floats' (the floats covered with toilet paper), Jimmy is filled with pride and rushes over to reveal himself, scaring the others due to his monstrous appearance, something so horrible that even Bug-a-Boo screamed in terror, accidentally letting go of his giant pumpkin balloon. Once seeing the balloon start to float away, Jimmy jumps to catch it, yelling that the balloon is 'the coolest thing he's ever done!'. Realizing that his body weight is too light for the balloon, Jimmy fears that he might float away along with his creation but is shokced when the opposite happens. As he looks down, he sees that the monsters he was so scared of Last Halloween helping him hold down the giatn balloon. This action ends up dispelling his fear of monsters and he shakes hands with Bug-a-Boo, thanking the monsters for saving him and his balloon.

Due to his scare, Jimmy ends up winning 'Best Costume' in the parade and is awarded with a ribbon pinned to his sweater. Although overjoyed at winning the costume contest, he ends up sulking minutes after, commenting to himself about his regret for destroying all the candy in the stores earlier, lamenting how the candies were the only thing that didn't get fixed. Fortunately, Scary Godmother overhears him and, using her magic, she builds a stand full of candy and gives out free baskets to all the kids in town, including Jimmy. The book ends with the finishing line, "And for Jimmy, revenge certainly was sweet!".

Movie[]

While the movie generally stays close to the book's storyline, there are some notable differences that should be acknowledged. For instance, instead of wrapping the floats in toilet paper, Jimmy's plan involves throwing toilet paper into the 'Spook House' to prevent Hannah and his friends from having their Halloween Party. However, there's a humorous twist when Jimmy sneaks into the Fright Side to steal the 'candy prize' hidden inside a pumpkin container. Inside the Spook House, Jimmy's attempt to grab the container leads to a comical encounter with Harry. They end up in a tussle, neither able to secure the container. This confrontation inadvertently results in a collision with Bug-a-Boo, leading to Harry being tossed out of the house, and Jimmy accidentally dropping the container into Skully's hands.

Feeling bitter about Halloween, Jimmy has a moment of bitter self-reflection. He unexpectedly comes face-to-face with Bug-a-Boo, who initially struggles to recognize him due to his altered appearance. As they both startle each other, a fearful scream turns into laughter as Bug-a-Boo praises Jimmy for scaring him, playfully awarding him the title of 'Best Costume.' This realization prompts Jimmy to regain his Halloween spirit, transforming his appearance back to its youthful state.

Encouraged by Hannah, Jimmy is handed the pumpkin container with the candy prize. Hannah suggests smashing it open, but Jimmy offers that they do it together. The film concludes with them sharing a heartwarming moment as they chat and enjoy the Halloween treats together.

Relationships[]

Hannah Marie[]

Hannah is Jimmy's cousin. Although initially annoyed by her, Jimmy has grown to be more tolerant of her behaviour, even having a rare moment of vulnerability as he asks Hannah if they could smash the pumpkin together. Nonetheless, Jimmy is still no stranger to teasing her every chance he gets.

Bert, Katie, and Daryl[]

Bert, Katie, and Daryl are Jimmy's friends. Despite their disagreements, they are still rather close with one another, with Katie having no problem scolding Jimmy fro being late despite his mean streak and Bert getting Jimmy to join in with teasing Daryl while they were counting the vote on who would become the leader of their group.

Bug-a-boo[]

Although initially spooked by him, Jimmy has grown to see Bug-a-Boo as an acquaintance, forming a truce with him after scaring him in both the book and the film.

Trivia[]

  • In the books (Specifially in Revenge of Jimmy), Jimmy doesn't dress up for Halloween and wins due to his face being mistaken for a 'Jekyll and Hyde' costume. However, in the movie, he wears his devil costume for Halloween.[1]
