Katie is a young girl who is a part of Jimmy's group.

Personality[]

Bert is a kind and level-headed young girl with a more assertive attitude, as seen with how she stands up to Jimmy when he's late, despite him being their 'leader'. Despite being regarded as 'mean' earlier on due to her prank against Hannah, she ends up being more of a good-natured person, albeit a little overdramatic.

Appearance[]

Katie is a pale, fair skinned girl with short, brown hair cut into a bob and black dots for eyes. She wears an all black attire, including a headband with cat ears and sports a painted black nose on her face.

In the second movie, she has a brighter palette on her clothing, wearing a white sweater underneath a pink short sleeve and blue, oversized jeans alongside black shoes and a silver pendant necklace. She wears the same costume as she does in the first movie, but this time instead of a black cat, she's dressed up as a black panther.

Biography[]

Scary Godmother: Halloween Spooktacular[]

Movie[]

In the beginning of the movie, Katie is seen in front of the Spook House, impatiently waiting for everyonse else as they arrive, in her words, 'late'. When Daryl comes, she angrily calls him out and later does the same to Jimmy after seeing that he is the last one to arrive at the Spook House. Despite being a relatively nice kid at the start of the film, she ultimately ends up agreeing with Jimmy's plan to scare Hannah so she could run home, even laughing at seeing Hannah's scared face once they lock her in the Spook House. While waiting for Hannah to get out of the spook house, Katie is seen passing the time by trading candy with Daryl, bluntly flirting with him by trading some of his candy with a kiss form her before getting interrupted. While heading inside the house to fetch Hannah, she gets scared by the different monsters of the Fright Side, running out in horror once Hannah 'saves' them.

Book[]

In the book, Katie follows Jimmy in picking Hannah up for Halloween and the group ends up trick-or-treating around various houses, having to stop and help Hannah since she is too small to catch up to them. Out of all the kids, she is the one seen mostly helping Hannah, a more prominent example being her helping Hannah up the stairs. After getting convinced with a promise of candy by Jimmy, she agrees to help him in scaring Hannah. Unlike the movie, which made room for scenes of what the group was doing while Hannah was at the Fright Side, the book doesn't provide much intel, only showing a scene of them panicking over leaving Hannah inside the house, with Katie being worried over leaving Hannah in the Spook House.

By the end of the book, Katie, along with the rest of her friends end up getting terrorized by the monsters in the Fright Side and cling onto Hannah as they reach the entrance of the house, running out of the house and leaving their candy behind.

Scary Godmother: The Revenge of Jimmy[]

Movie[]

Katie makes a return in "The Revenge of Jimmy", alongside Bert and Daryl. heading over to Jimmy's room. Initially confused at seeing 'him' on his bed, she enters the room and gets scared by each one of Jimmy's traps, and eventually jumpscared by Jimmy himself once she moves to a corner, screaming in fear at his appearance. She is then confused when Jimmy comments on them 'falling' for his traps, wondering if said comment was made to insult or compliment them. Once hearing Jimmy's 'Monster-proof' plan, she gets disgusted when Jimmy tells her that he'll wear the same outfit everyday. When Jimmy announces that he plans on cancelling Halloween, she is against it, and after Jimmy gives them an ultimatum of being with him or against him, she, along with Bert and Daryl look at eachother and leave his house, hanging out with Hannah instead as they prepare for Halloween.

While hanging out with Hannah, they end up facing obstacles leading up to Halloween and reacts negatively. When she notices that the pumpkins have been smashed, she is saddened by it but later recovers and when Daryl suggests to find an alternative. She gets confused when Daryl suggests they use lettuce. While walking with Hannah with their new pumpkins, they start debating on which candy is worst, settling on black licorice. Unbeknownst to them, Jimmy overhears their conversation and decides to trick them again, resulting in all the costumes and candy in town being falsely stamped as 'Flammable' and 'Poisonous'. Distraught at the sight and Hannah's conclusion, Katie is saddened and falls to the floor, holding her legs. Sulking back, her, Bert, and Daryl start talking amongst eachother. She is then called over by Hannah alongside Daryl and Bert as the young girl suggests making their own treats, and agreeing to the idea of a Halloween party, but wondering about what to do with their costumes. When Hannah tells them that they could make their own costumes, the group agrees, and they end up having said party at the Spook House as they begin spreading out invitations for everyone.

During Halloween, Katie meets with the others whilst dressed in the same outfit as last Halloween, excusing it by saying she's dressed up as a 'black panther', as opposed to a 'black cat'. Once they reach the Spook House, however, they found out it's been covered in toilet paper and, devastated, she starts to give up, angrily throwing her pumpkin basket to the ground. Her sadness is cut short, however, as Hannah begins to imagine that the toilet paper are meant to look like ghosts and her Halloween spirit comes back, cheering that they'll have the "Best Halloween yet!".

Entering the Spook House, her, Bert, and Daryl are cautious in their steps, most likely due to their previous experience and, turning around, they scream in terror at the monsters towering over them. Their terror turns into humor once they realize that the mosters don't intend to harm them and they laugh, with Katie agreeing with Bert's praise. She ends up mingling with the rest of the monsters and is pulled to dance with Harry.

In the end of the film, her, along with the rest, watch as Jimmy wrestles with Harry for the candy prize and later scream in agreement of Jimmy winning 'Best Costume'. Though off-screen, he is seen grabbing a few candy from the prize after Jimmy and Hannah break the pumpkin together.

Book[]

She has a less prominent role in this version of the special, often being used as a background character throughout the entire book. In contrast to the movie, however, she is seen with a new costume, dressing up as a spider rather than a panther.

Relationships[]

Jimmy[]

Jimmy is Katie's friend, though beyond that, their relationship is hardly expanded upon. She is implied to like him due to her clinging onto Jimmy whenever she gets scared.

Daryl[]

Daryl is Katie's friend and is implied to have a mutual crush on him, as seen when she offered to kiss him in exchange for a few pieces of candy. This tease is never expanded upon.

Bert[]

Bert is Katie's friend and they are shown to be fairly close, despite Bert often annoying her.

Hannah[]

Hannah is Katie's friend. Despite her mean streak, she is shown to be quite caring towards Hannah. In fact, she is seemingly one of the kinder people in the group towards her, as she is seen only being 'mean' to her when Jimmy tells her to. Before pranking her, roleplays as her mother when recreating a flashback on how she gained her signature flashlight and, in the books, she is the one primarily helping her up and down the stairs while trick-or-treating.[1]

Trivia[]

  • In both movies, she wears the same costume, however, in the books, she is seen dressed up as a spider rather than a 'black panther'[2].
